Presence In Connection
I was born in Mexico City to an Australian father & a Mexican mother. I grew up wanting to be an astronaut, but changed my mind when I started playing piano, guitar & bass around age 12. At 16, my band La Catrina got signed by Warner Music & I spent the next 15 years living & breathing the music business. I attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music & then worked as a jingle writer, session & touring musician, record producer & singer-songwriter.
Over the past 15 years, I've also been on a journey of self-discovery and awakening. It began, as they so often do, with an existential crisis which resulted in an interest in yoga & meditation. This led me to the study & practice of zen buddhism, voice dialogue, dzogchen, shamanism & adult development (particularly the work of Robert Kegan & Susanne Cook-Greuter) as well as to Ken Wilber's integral theory. All of this resulted in my becoming a close student and translator for integral teacher Terry Patten.
Soon after meeting Liz, we embarked on the latest (& deepest) chapter of this adventure, training intensively together in the powerful relational meditation practice known as Circling or Relatefulness.
These days, I facilitate Circling/Relatefulness, both in person and online, and offer Relatefulness & integrative coaching sessions for individuals, couples & groups. Liz and I also have a son, Alexander, who is the most beautiful part of our world now.
I was born a free spirit in Mexico City to very loving and present parents, and lived most of my childhood and teens in a little town outside the city. Since I was a little girl I’ve always been mesmerized by the beauty around me in nature and in people and very intrigued by darkness, God and all things unknown and mysterious. I feel very energized by a good challenge.
When I was 15 years old, my parents sent me to Belgium for a year, and there I became passionate about creativity, connection, different cultures and adventures. I wanted very much to be a singer and have always been deeply interested in how people’s minds work.
I studied Scenic Arts and Performance in Spain for 4 years and majored in TV acting in Mexico City where I worked on stage and in television for 7 years. I had a lot of fun but always felt a sense that I didn’t belong there, that something was missing and a call to do greater things with my life. My heart was restless and there was a longing for my life to be in service of others. As a result of that major crisis I decided to travel to India where I really got the chance to face my shadows, know my strengths and discover my gifts. I studied Tibetan Buddhism in various retreat centers in India and Nepal, had the honor to learn from incredible teachers and masters like Lama Zopa Rinpoche, and deepened my meditation and yoga practice.
Returning from India I decided to leave TV and showbiz behind and deepen my studies of the Mind, the Body and subtle energies.
Today I am an Integral Bodywork Therapist with a background in Core Energetics, Somatic Psychotherapy and Subtle Energy Work. I am also a certified facilitator of Circling/Relatefulness. I work with the integration of body, mind and subtle energies using diverse tools such as touch, massage therapy, energy work and conversational modes of therapy akin to coaching. I consider my own gift to be helping people see their inner natural beauty, tune into their unique gifts and develop more loving and balanced ways of relating to themselves and others.
I currently live in Mexico with my husband Philip and my son Alexander, where we are bringing our love and gifts to the Latin American community and the world.
The sessions with Philip were unlike any other coaching I’ve had. Never before have I worked so directly and somatically on what it is like to be with my power, and how I can be with it in relationship. This is a very tender topic for me, and Philip’s ability to really meet me there was a surprise. Whenever I took a risk, he could see me, receive me, and meet me right at that edge. His deep skill, courage and authenticity allowed me to express and explore what’s normally kept under wraps. The insights and energy I got from this have been (and continue to be) essential to figuring out my path as a coach and business owner. I am deeply grateful that Circling exists and that there are practitioners at this level.
